Manchester United full-back Luke Shaw put in an efficient performance as he helped Louis van Gaal’s side to a 3-1 win over Club Brugge.
The 20-year-old kept his place in the starting lineup and showed just how much he has improved from last year, displaying his attacking prowess as well as being defensively solid.
One fantastic run down the right-hand side should have ended with Memphis Depay completing his hat-trick but the Dutchman spurned the opportunity.
Nevertheless, United fans were extremely pleased with what they saw from Shaw, a player who seems to have come on leaps and bounds since the start of pre-season.
Break out party for Shaw too. He actually looks like the player United thought they signed last summer.

That would’ve been an amazing goal. Luke Shaw you BEAST.

Shaw looks a different player from last season. Much fitter and more dynamic.

And on more straight forward matters, Luke Shaw impressive tonight. Though not as good as the other guy on the left. #MUFC

Shaw put in some hard work over the summer and he is reaping the rewards. After a disappointing debut season at Old Trafford, the Englishman is starting to look like the player van Gaal wants him to be.
The left-back has shown lots of promise going forward and it seems that he and Memphis have struck up a good understanding on United’s left flank.
Now that Shaw looks to have cemented his place in the side, he will want to put in more performances like the one against Brugge, starting with the game against Newcastle United on Saturday.
