Manchester United have made an initial bid for Southampton forward Sadio Mane, according to The Telegraph’s Jason Burt.
Man United registered their interest in the 23-year-old Senegalese with a bid last week.
The surprise move would explain why United stalled on a potential transfer for Barcelona’s Pedro, who is now set to join Chelsea.
Mane scored 10 goals for the Saints last season including the fastest hat-trick in Premier League history in a 6-1 win over Aston Villa.
Mane certainly has talent but United fans may be concerned that he is yet to prove himself at the highest level.
Pedro, on the other hand, is one of the most highly decorated players in the game. Mane won’t be the last name linked with United in the next few weeks and there will undoubtedly be a few more surprises yet.
