Manchester United are considering a move for Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann after missing out on Pedro, according to MailOnline.
Pedro had been linked with a move to Old Trafford for a number of weeks but Chelsea have stolen the Spaniard from under United’s nose.
Attention has now turned to alternatives and Man United have identified Griezmann, who has a £56m release clause, as an option.
The Frenchman is widely regarded to be one of Europe’s most exciting talents having scored 25 goals for Atletico last season.
However, the Spanish club have inserted a £56m buyout clause in Griezmann’s contract which may put off United.
Griezmann would be a fantastic addition but it is unlikely that Atletico would let him go this late in the window as securing a replacement would be difficult.
Who exactly United are targeting following the Pedro disaster is a mystery and it’s safe to say that no-one really knows what the situation is. This was exemplified by the revelation that United are interested in Sadio Mane, which came from nowhere. There will be plenty of twists and turns before the transfer window closes in the next few weeks.
