Victor Valdes‘ agent has confirmed Turkish side Antalyaspor remain interested in signing the Manchester United goalkeeper.
Agent Metin Korkmaz revealed that Valdes is indeed interested in a move and was sent to Turkey in order to outline to Turkish clubs that Valdes was keen.
Valdes has been on the periphery at United since refusing to play with the club’s U21s team last season and had a public falling out with Louis van Gaal on the back of some controversial comments by the Dutch manager.
His agent confirmed the interest when speaking to Radyospor recently: “Deco currently has the rights for Valdes and we are trying to work this transfer through him. Antalyaspor really want him and he would be keen on playing with his former teammate Samuel Eto’o again.
“We have yet to receive an offer from Beşiktaş. This should all be resolved within the next 2-3 days.”
The goalkeeping situation at Manchester United is a precarious one and despite the fact that David de Gea‘s future remains up in the air, Valdes has no future at Old Trafford.
Van Gaal is notoriously strict and Valdes’ alleged refusal to play with the U21s was something that he was very angry with, hence the major fallout.
By this point in the window, Valdes was already expected to have left United but it hasn’t been the case yet. However, with such little time left in the window, there will be have to be some movement very quickly if he is to complete an exit this summer.
