Sergio Romero – David de Gea is unlikely to start for Manchester United until after the transfer window, that’s if he stays.
Luke Shaw – He is really enjoying himself right now at left-back and is looking fantastic.
Daley Blind – Pleasantly surprising all Man United fans at how well he is doing as a makeshift centre-back.
Chris Smalling – Arguably United’s best player so far this season. Completely different from the player who looked so shaky last year.
Matteo Darmian – United fans are loving his early performances this season as back part of a consistent back five.
Bastian Schweinsteiger – Now is the right time for him to make his full debut as he is fit and ready.
Morgan Schneiderlin – The first midfielder on the team sheet. Commanding performances continue to impress.
Ander Herrera – Michael Carrick and Schweinsteiger can’t play together in a midfield trio, so Herrera should be slotting right in.
Juan Mata – He’s quietly enjoying a good start to the season.
Memphis Depay – After his two goals against Newcastle, his confidence will be overflowing.
Wayne Rooney – Starting by default, not on merit.
Predicted formation: 4-3-3 – It is only a matter of time before Louis van Gaal starts to use his traditional 4-3-3 formation and the idea of Schneiderlin and Herrera is tantalising.
