Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale not for sale at any price – report

Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale will not be sold to Manchester United at any price this summer, according to ESPN.

The report states that Man United are prepared to pay a world-record £95m fee for the Welsh international, but will have their efforts rebuffed by Madrid as the 26-year-old looks set to play an instrumental role in Rafa Benitez’s side this term.

Despite scoring 13 league goals last season, Bale was often booed by sections of Madrid fans for what was perceived to be a lack of form.

This has led to speculation that he was looking for an exit from the Spanish club, with United touted as potential suitors.

The saga surrounding Bale has just simply not gone away over the summer, with Louis Van Gaal appearing to still be intent on bringing a ‘game changer’ to Old Trafford.

With only nine days left of the transfer window, however, it seems unlikely that Madrid will let one of their most talismanic players leave, even if David De Gea is included as part of the deal.

While Bale’s signing would be a phenomenal coup for United, many fans feel that the club’s hierarchy should stop wasting valuable time chasing unrealistic signings, and instead focus their efforts on more attainable targets. United have already missed out on Pedro, and failure to add another attacking outlet to the squad could potentially make the difference in a Premier League title challenge.
