Daley Blind: New Manchester United signings have ‘fitted in really quickly’

by Leo Nieboer

Daley Blind has praised Manchester United’s new signings for the way they’ve settled into life at Old Trafford.

New signings Memphis Depay, Matteo Darmian, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Morgan Schneiderlin and Sergio Romero have all shown signs of looking right at home under Louis van Gaal since joining this summer.

Special praise has gone to Memphis for his outstanding display against Club Brugge, as well as Schweinsteiger for his assured performances in the middle of the park.

Now, Blind has revealed his admiration for the way each new signing has adjusted to being at Man United.

“Things have been going well,” Blind said.

“The new signings have fitted in really quickly. Everyone is helping them and I think they feel very comfortable at the club now which is nice to see.

“If you look at the performances they have been good and you have seen how the new guys have adapted and fitted in to the squad. We have to keep building on that.”

Aside from concerns surrounding Romero’s capacity to be a first choice goalkeeper, United supporters have warmed to van Gaal’s most recent additions.

Blind is not the only player to outline his approval of United’s new signings; Chris Smalling and Juan Mata have also showered praise on the five new additions.

The defensive endeavours of Darmian and Schneiderlin have helped guide United to unbeaten start to the 2015/16 season, while the attacking brilliance of Memphis and midfield dominance of Schweinsteiger has given United a firm grip on their Champions League tie with Club Brugge.

So, despite persistent outcries for further additions, United supporters should feel deeply encouraged by the way each new signing has opened their account at Old Trafford.
