Eden Hazard has put his team’s rivalry aside to wish Memphis Depay the best of luck and hopes he fulfils his potential.
The 21-year-old kicked his Manchester United career into full swing with a stunning brace against Club Brugge last week that threw him right into the spotlight.
When Hazard arrived at Chelsea he was also a highly rated 21-year-old and has since gone on to become one of the Premier League’s best players.
That’s something United fans, and seemingly Hazard, hopes to see in the future.
“He’s very good, he’s still young,” Hazard told FoxSports.nl.
“I saw the game against Brugge. He scored two fantastic goals. I hope for him [that he fulfils his potential] – but not for Chelsea.”
Youngsters can get built up so quickly after a few strong performances but Memphis looks like he has the whole package and arguably his greatest asset right now is his attitude, rather than his talent.
Memphis has never been a stranger to hard work, is driven to be the best and has an unwavering self-confidence which comes across as supreme arrogance.
That, combined with the fact he’s actually an ace footballer as well, all put him in perfect stead to follow in Hazard’s footsteps and become one of the Premier League’s best players in the future. United fans are certainly hoping that can be the case.
