Manchester United are still interested in signing Gareth Bale from Real Madrid this summer.
Sky Sports report that although no talks between the clubs nor formal bid for the Welsh winger had been made, Bale remained on Man United’s wishlist.
Bale scored 13 league goals for Madrid last season but experienced spells of poor form which led to him being booed by large sections of the Madrid ‘faithful’.
United’s interest in Bale has been a long running transfer saga for the majority of the summer but with only a couple of weeks left in the window, there has seemingly been no official bid made.
While Bale would be welcomed with open arms by the United faithful, it is likely that if a move were to materialise, it would surely have done so already.
With Madrid as of yet failing to recruit a new Galactico this summer, they are unlikely to want let go of their best players, a bracket Bale quite obviously falls in to.
Add in the fact that Bale would cost a world record fee to be signed and it makes it an altogether unlikely situation, regardless of how interested United are.
One shred of hope for United fans is the still unresolved future of David de Gea.
With the Spanish international still intent on joining Los Blancos, if he is hellbent on leaving this summer, then Bale (not Sergio, nobody wanted him anyway…) could make his way to United.
