Manchester United transfer roundup: World record bid for Neymar?

by Ben Topliss

Here is the latest Manchester United transfer news and gossip.

With the transfer window coming to a close, Man United are bound to be linked with moves for a whole host of players and that proved to be the case on Monday.

However, it looks like the club’s top ‘targets’ will be out of reach. Spanish football expert Guillem Balague tweeted to reveal that Neymar will sign a new deal at Barcelona but that the rumours linking him to United will continue to persist in order to put pressure on the European champions.

On the contrary, Globoesporte in Brazil report that Man United have submitted a world record bid of €190m for the striker. Yes, you read that correctly – €190m.

Ajax keeper Jasper Cillessen also ruled out a switch to Old Trafford by insisting he will end the season at his current club.

Gareth Bale 15

On top of that, there was even more bad news for United as Real Madrid and Bayern Munich issued hands-off warnings over Gareth Bale and Thomas Muller, respectively.

In terms of departures, Besiktas are said to be working on a loan move for Anders Lindegaard.

He’s not the only keeper who is unhappy at United and AS claim that David de Gea was ‘infuriated’ by Louis van Gaal’s assertion last week that the Spaniard will not be sold amid interest from Madrid.
