The forgotten man Nick Powell has postly a timely reminder on his official Twitter account to remind fans he still exists.
He is now 27 weeks into his recovery from surgery and it has certainly been a long road for the midfielder who arrived at Old Trafford with such promise.
The 21-year-old England youth international was signed from Crewe Alexandra by Sir Alex Ferguson in 2012 but has largely failed to make an impact on the first-team following mixed loan spells with Wigan Athletic and Leicester City.
Now, Powell insists he ‘doesn’t have long to go’ in his recovery from injury and is hoping to be back playing for the club before too long after a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Powell signed for Man United with huge expectations on his shoulders, especially after Sir Alex likened him to club legend Paul Scholes. However, injuries and rumours of attitude problems have led to the stagnation of his development at the club.
Powell, who was voted as Crewe Alexandra’s best ever player in 2014, is still held in high regard by the United faithful and supporters will hope that after a long injury lay off, the 21-year-old will come back and fight for his place under van Gaal, something that may be easier said than done considering United’s abundance of midfield talent.
Do you think Nick Powell has a future at Manchester United or should we focus our efforts on developing our other youngsters?
