PSV Eindhoven interested in Andreas Pereira loan – report

by Leo Nieboer

PSV Eindhoven are interested in bringing in Manchester United youngster Andreas Pereira on loan, according to Voetbal Primeur.

Pereira caught the attention of supporters with some accomplished performances on Man United’s pre-season tour of the United States, as well as turning a few heads in the U20 World Cup in the summer.

United snapped up the 19-year-old from PSV back in 2012, but the Brazilian has only made two senior appearances since coming to Old Trafford.

PSV are keen on bringing Pereira back to familiar surroundings in order to further his development as a footballer through regular involvement with the Dutch champions.

Louis van Gaal, who uncharacteristically singled out praise for Pereira during United’s pre-season tour, is unlikely to let the teenager leave Old Trafford since he rates the Brazilian so highly.

The manager has a propensity for keeping young talents under his wing, even if they aren’t featuring regularly for the first team; Tyler Blackett and Paddy McNair are concrete examples of this.

Pereira would undoubtedly benefit hugely from van Gaal’s tutelage. Additionally, being around the senior squad would further help the youngster mature and grow in confidence.
