Spanish football expert Guillem Balague does not expect Manchester United to make a move for Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann.
The Frenchman has been linked with a move to Man United all summer but with the transfer window set to close on Monday, it does not seem as if the Reds are interested in bringing Griezmann Frenchman to the club at this time.
Reports suggested Griezmann was United’s top target after missing out on the signing of Pedro from Barcelona.
Balague, however, has contradicted those suggestions.
“Neither Atletico Madrid nor Griezmann expect any offer arriving in the next few days and Atletico have got no intention whatsoever to let him go,” he said.
Balague’s pundits comments also insinuate that even if United were to make a bid, Atletico would not be willing to offload their winger.
United have struggled to score goals in the Premier League so far this season, with only two from their opening three games. Many feel that the Reds need to add more firepower to their attack and Griezmann would be the ideal candidate to do so.
With just three days left in the transfer window, any transfer for Griezmann is highly unlikely and United may be prepared to go into the rest of the season with what they already have.
