Javier Hernandez joins Bayer Leverkusen from Manchester United

by Sam Peoples

Manchester United’s Javier Hernandez has joined Bayer Leverkusen on a three-year deal year for an undisclosed fee.

The Mexican striker becomes the third senior striker to leave Man United this summer after the departures of Robin van Persie and Radamel Falcao.

Chicharito spent last season loan at Real Madrid and Louis van Gaal gave him an opportunity again at United but decided against keeping him in the squad.

It leaves United with only Wayne Rooney and James Wilson as the recognised strikers in the squad but the arrival of Anthony Martial will go some way to improving that situation.

Chicharito scored plenty of important goals at United but his exit this summer has been considered inevitable by most fans for a long time.

Van Gaal was simply never a fan of the Mexican striker and the writing had been on the wall for a while now.

Moving forward, Chicharito can be a fantastic player for Bayer Leverkusen and we wish him the best of luck out in Germany.
