It’s safe to say the news that Manchester United are set to sign Monaco striker Anthony Martial for £36m has divided the club’s fanbase.
Speculation surrounding the 19-year-old had been nonexistent until late on Sunday evening following Man United’s 2-1 defeat against Swansea City.
Martial has been getting positive reviews for his performances in France but the signing has seemingly come from nowhere.
United fans had mixed feelings about the Frenchman after the news emerged:
Anthony Martial is a definite superstar. One of the brightest talents in France and would inject a whole lot of pace into the team.

Who is Anthony Martial? Why are we paying so much money for him? The same fee as Aguero. When he has the same goal ratio as Welbeck. #MUFC

£36m is a massive amount for a 19-year-old and he will immediately have huge pressure on his shoulders if he does arrive at Old Trafford.
Of course, supporters would be happier to see the club spending money rather than getting no-one in at all but it is hard to get past the fee. Martial will really have to hit the ground running.
