Manchester United transfer round-up: De Gea situation unresolved, Fekir says United are a ‘dream club’

Here is the latest Manchester United transfer news and gossip.

The transfer window has finally shut but the situation surrounding David de Gea remains murky.

The Spaniard’s failed move to Real Madrid, which fell through on Monday due to late paperwork, was entertaining for fans but his standing at Old Trafford is now far from certain.

Sergio Ramos and Juan Mata both insisted that De Gea will maintain his professionalism at Man United this season but Spain manager Vincent Del Bosque warned him he must get back in the first-team if he wants to make the squad for the European Championships.

It is unclear if Louis van Gaal will be willing to repair his relationship with De Gea ahead of the Liverpool game in a few weeks and no-one really knows what is going to happen with the keeper moving forward.

Meanwhile, deadline day signing Anthony Martial returned to France training after completing his move to United. In a subsequent press conference, he revealed that he talked to Morgan Schneiderlin about the transfer.

Lyon striker Nabil Fekir insisted United are getting a very good player in Martial and even raised the suggestion that he could play at Old Trafford himself someday by admitting United are a dream club.
