France took on Portugal on Friday night and all eyes were on a certain Anthony Martial when it comes to Manchester United fans.
The 19-year-old came on as a second half substitute to make his full France debut and Man United fans got to see him in action for the first time.
Martial helped France to victory as a superb late free-kick from Valbuena was enough to seal the win and he’ll be delighted to come away with the win in his first game.
There is going to be so much expectation on Martial’s shoulders from the wider media and press but United fans are all too aware that youngsters need support and patience, so there will be no extra pressure on him from those inside the club.

Signing established players like Morgan Schneiderlin and Bastian Schweinsteiger has given United a real boost this summer but there’s something really exciting about an unknown entity like Martial.
Nobody has any idea what he will do next season. Maybe he’ll score four goals and struggle to adapt to the Premier League but there are always individual cases where some youngsters just take to English football like a duck to water.
Could Martial be the latter? Potentially, and United fans will make sure they support him all the way and help him wherever they can.
