Martial has scored four goals at under 21 level for his country and Mankowski has followed his development closely.
It is a huge vote of confidence for the 19-year-old, at a time when many are doubting the huge transfer fee Man United paid to secure his services. However, Mankowski has chosen to ignore the fee and focus on the incredible potential he has shown at a young age.
“Anthony has a huge talent, we know that, he’s extremely gifted. He’s capable of making the difference against anyone at any time.
“He will become more attentive and become more of a team player. I have fully confident about his future at Manchester United.” Mankowski said.
Since transfer deadline day, there has been a lot of talk about Martial in the British press. The reported £36 million fee has switched people’s attention from focusing on the player himself and more the money involved.
Mankowski is confident that, give Martial’s personality, he will be able to handle the pressure being put on him.
He added: “I’m under the impression that Anthony is a really calm in life as well as in a team. Everything seems really simple to him. Maybe he’ll need to be more attentive.
“He will probably lose a bit of calmness because the cameras will always be on him. People will expect a lot from him, that‘s normal.”
Expectations are already sky-high but, at only 19, Martial still has a long way to go before he is the finished product. United fans will need to be patient with the winger and, hopefully, he will prove his worth in due time.
