Anthony Martial had the perfect start to life at Manchester United, scoring to wrap up a 3-1 win over Liverpool.
The 19-year-old came on as a 65th minute substitute for Juan Mata and went straight to his favoured number nine position.
After Man United conceded to a Christian Benteke wonder goal, the Reds had their backs to the wall. Martial then provided a moment of brilliance to beat two defenders and slot past Simon Mignolet at the Stretford End.
It was the dream start for the most expensive teenager in world football and United fans were delighted for him:
Forget Martial's run. That finish was the business.

Superb goal from young Martial, delighted for him. Better 2nd half but the first half was atrocious.

Given the criticism United have received in the media for spending so much on such a young player, it was a huge moment for the whole club. Louis van Gaal himself called the fee ‘ridiculous’ but he will fee that the Frenchman has already started to pay him back.
A goal on debut for United is incredible to say the least but to do it against Liverpool at the Stretford End is a whole other story. Martial has well and truly announced his arrival at Old Trafford and in some style.
