Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger sent a picture to fans of him celebrating on the Old Trafford pitch after the game had finished against Liverpool.
The German started in midfield alongside Michael Carrick for the first time and the pair controlled the game against the Merseysiders. Both players found acres of space and midfield and dictated the tempo of Man United’s play.
Schweinsteiger was clearly delighted with the win as he celebrated on the Old Trafford pitch with his brother and friend, who had travelled over to England for the match.
Since signing from Bayern Munich this summer, the 31-year-old has proved his experience by slotting into the United midfield with ease. He has brought composure to the Reds play and is starting to look like the sort of player United have been missing since the retirement of Paul Scholes.

After playing 90 minutes against Liverpool, Schweinsteiger will be hoping for a chance to prove his fitness with another opportunity against PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League on Tuesday.
