Philip Cocu and Hector Moreno both visited Luke Shaw in hospital on Thursday to give him their well wishes following his terrible leg break on Tuesday against PSV.
NOS.nl reports that Cocu and Moreno passed on some gifts to the 20-year-old who was happy to receive them and thanked both for coming to see him.
Shaw is set to have undergone a second operation on his broken leg on Friday and his recovery won’t begin in earnest until he has returned from Eindhoven where he is currently in hospital, alongside his parents.
Speaking after the visit, Cocu said: “We asked if Luke was open for a visit. We have expressed support. Fortunately, the severe pain has gone away.
“We offered our help and said we want to help. For Moreno, he has also been good in need. Such a thing does something to him.”
SportWitness have also covered an in-depth interview with Moreno where he wished Shaw all the best and apologised unreservedly for the challenge which caused the injury.
It’s still sickening to think what has happened to Shaw after such a promising start to the season that came through nothing but his own hard work and determination, which all began during the off-season when he underwent a rigorous personal fitness regime.
