Doctors treating Manchester United defender Luke Shaw in Holland are reportedly happy with how the youngsters second operation went on Friday.

Shaw suffered a double broken leg during Man United’s loss to PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League and has been treated in Holland since the injury. Shaw is now expected to travel back to Manchester on Saturday to begin his rehabilitation.

The second operation was, allegedly, to close the wounds that Shaw sustained after the tackle by PSV’s Hector Moreno.

With the surgeries completed, Shaw is now set to start the hard part of his recovery. He is expected to be out for approximately six months and will undergo his rehabilitation in Manchester itself.

Shaw will not be part of the United squad traveling to his old club Southampton on Sunday but he will hopefully be back in England by the time the Reds take the field. It is up to the doctors to decide when the 20-year-old can travel again but the sooner the better.

The Englishman had been one of United’s bright sparks this season thus far having put in a lot of hard work over pre-season. Shaw will now have to almost start from scratch again as he tries to get back to full fitness.

United fans everywhere will be willing the full-back a swift recovery, despite the horrific nature of the injury. Supporters will be waiting with baited breath for Shaw to return and the youngster has the full support of the clubs fans.
