Manchester United fans were left in awe after new signing Anthony Martial produced an impeccable performance against Southampton.
The world’s most expensive teenager scored either side of half-time as Louis van Gaal‘s side came away from St Mary’s with a 3-2 win.
Martial’s heroic double was accompanied by some excellent movement on and off the ball, creating spaces for his teammates and offering a different dimension in attack.
Fans and pundits have lauded the 19-year-old following his first Premier League start:
Southampton frightened every time Martial receives the ball. That's what happens when you have pace and direct running.

I wonder how many players Martial is going to get booked this season? Can't seem to stop him without fouling him #whatawasteofmoney

You can probably read too much into things but Neville is right. Martial just looks cool, not bothered. All in his stride.

Another classy finish from Martial. Keep on mentioning that fee commentators. Looking cheaper by the day

It is almost as if Anthony Martial has studied Thierry Henry goals and is trying to replicate a different one each week. Class finish #MUFC

For a player who apparently needed time to settle in at Old Trafford, Martial has had a seismic impact since joining Man United.
To come into an attacking unit which, to the widespread annoyance of supporters, has struggled for prowess and flair all season, with the expectation of the world on your shoulders in the most challenging league in the world, Martial has been nothing short of exceptional. United fans ought to be absolutely ecstatic at the prospect of seeing Martial develop further – he is a supreme talent.
