Manchester United assistant manager Ryan Giggs was caught having a bit of banter with his old teammate Paul Scholes before the Reds game against PSV Eindhoven on Tuesday.
Scholes was doing punditry work pitchside for BT Sport, when Giggs played an inch perfect pass towards the Englishman. Scholes was busy on live television but Giggs’s perfect pass interrupted his pre-match comments.
Man United fans would have felt a sense of deja-vu, seeing Giggs playing a pass to his old ‘Class of 92’ pal. The two made well over 1,000 appearances for United between them and Giggs even had Scholes on his coaching staff when he took over for the last four games of the 2014 season.
Scholes was upbeat despite United’s defeat to PSV in the Champions League, claiming that the performance was not as bad as the result. Many have been calling for Scholes to come back to Old Trafford on the coaching side, following concern over the club losing their identity.
United will be hoping to bounce back from their defeat in Europe when they visit Southampton on Sunday. It was a much better attacking performance last time out for the Reds, something Scholes enjoyed, and they will want to start applying the finishing touches to try and close the gap on Manchester City in the Premier League.
