Manchester United fans were left unimpressed with Marcos Rojo‘s performance at left-back in the 3-2 victory over Southampton.
Making his first start of the season, Rojo struggled to shift the ball quickly enough and he looked painfully shaky during the opening stages of the contest.
Man United fans and pundits were dejected with Rojo’s lack of sharpness in the left-back role:
Marcus Rojo is barley good enough to warm the united bench.

1-0 to an excellent Southampton. Could have been 2 or 3. Mane proving why Man Utd wanted him. Pelle exposing Blind. Rojo struggling..

Rojo can't make them runs Shaw makes. Shaw bursts into the box from LB, Rojo hits it down the line hoping Memphis will get it!

Filling the void left by Shaw, whose brilliant run of form has been brought to a cruel end, was never going to be easy for Rojo; especially against a Southampton side who came flying out of the blocks.
Having missed a large segment of pre-season, the 25-year-old is evidently still lacking some match sharpness – or ‘rhythm’, as one Dutchman may call it. But with Shaw out for a while and Louis van Gaal seemingly reluctant to break up the Daley Blind and Chris Smalling centre-back partnership, Rojo will have plenty of opportunities to assert himself in that left-back position.
