Martial has got off to a flier at Man United with three goals in his opening two Premier League games. The 19-year-old was also hugely impressive in the Champions League when he made his full debut against PSV Eindhoven.
As the most expensive teenager in world football, there was plenty of pressure on Martial as soon as he joined United. Despite not being able to speak English and moving to a new country at such a young age, the striker seems to have settled in seamlessly.
Speaking after the 3-2 win against Southampton last weekend, Schneiderlin said of his French counterpart: “Nobody really knew Anthony before he came to England but now they know more about him.
“It is good for him because he is a guy who can handle this situation. He came here, was relaxed and just wanted to show what he can do.
“You can see not just from his goals, but from his all-round performances, he makes good passes, has got composure and can run in behind.”
A debut goal against Liverpool as well as a brace in the victory over Southampton means Martial has already begun to win over the Old Trafford faithful and Schneiderlin is not downplaying the former Monaco man’s brilliant start.
He added: “It is good for him because he is a guy who can handle this situation. He came here, was relaxed and just wanted to show what he can do.
“He is very good and is going to do a lot more in the future. He has settled in well, he has his wife and his baby. He is very young but he is a family man.
“I try to help him as much as I can and my girlfriend does as well. We hang out together to make him feel a bit better. He is a very good guy so I am happy to have him in this football club.”
Schneiderlin himself has started life at Old Trafford well. After impressing throughout the club’s pre-season tour, he has been able to bring his good form into the Premier League and has been a stalwart for United thus far. After a busy transfer window, United fans will be hoping that their two new Frenchmen can help lead them to silverware come the end of the season.
