Louis van Gaal reveals injuries to Marcos Rojo and Paddy McNair

Louis van Gaal has revealed Marcos Rojo and Paddy McNair will both miss Manchester United’s game against Ipswich Town through injury.

Rojo has suffered a hamstring injury but van Gaal didn’t elaborate on what has caused McNair to miss the Ipswich game on Tuesday night.

Given that Rojo stepped in to replace Luke Shaw, who is now out for the season, it’s not good new to hear the Argentinian is now injured as well.

Speaking ahead of the Ipswich game, van Gaal said: “Rojo has a hamstring injury and Paddy McNair has a minor injury. I have to admit that because of the injury of three defenders [including Luke Shaw], I shall have Jones on the bench but he is not fit.”

Man United started the season off so well in terms of not having injuries but they are now starting to creep back into the team, which is never a good sign.

Shaw’s injury was a freak accident so that can’t really be taken into account but Rooney, Rojo and McNair are three recent examples of players picking up niggles. Hopefully this is not going to be a repeating pattern.

In Rojo’s absence, Ashley Young or Daley Blind is likely to step in at left-back.
