Former Manchester United midfielder David Beckham believes the club made a good decision in signing Anthony Martial.
Eyebrows were raised when Man United brought Martial to Old Trafford on deadline day in a move worth at least £36m.
However, the young Frenchman has made a blistering start to life at United by scoring four goals in four appearances.
Beckham praised Martial, saying that he is well and truly “living up” to his price tag.
“It is a great start for him,” Beckham said.
“He is 19 years old and the price-tag that he came into Manchester United with, he is living up to it at the moment.
“I hope he continues his form as I’m a Manchester United fan so I want to see him score more goals and become more successful.
“These are the type of players United are all about as one of the biggest clubs in the world.”
Martial really couldn’t have made a better start to his United career. He had a number of critics before he had even kicked a ball due to the fee but the Frenchman is quickly silencing his doubters. Of course, his run won’t last forever but he has certainly wasted no time in endearing himself to fans.
