Joshua Harrop was given the opportunity to train with Manchester United’s first-team by Louis van Gaal ahead of their clash against Wolfsburg on Wednesday.
The 19-year-old midfielder, who currently plays with the U21s, is a promising young midfielder who has developed well over the last 18 months, so it’s good to see van Gaal offering him the chance to impress.
Simply being in and around the likes of Wayne Rooney and Bastian Schweinsteiger is something which Harrop will be thinking about for weeks after. Hopefully he can use it as fuel to drive himself to improve even more.
Andreas Pereira is the latest academy graduate to come through into United’s first-team and Harrop will want to follow in his footsteps into the first-team.
Being involved in training is a step in the right direction for Harrop and he’ll now be keen to push on and try and earn a regular spot in the first-team squad’s training sessions.
