Manchester United injury concerns after quartet missing from training ahead of Wolfsburg

by Sam Peoples

Ander Herrera, Michael Carrick, Marcos Rojo and Antonio Valencia were all missing from Manchester United’s warm-up training session this morning ahead of Wednesday night’s game against Wolfsburg.

Their absence has raised injury worries ahead of Wolfsburg as Rojo is the only player who currently has an injury as far as fans are concerned.

With Luke Shaw and Rojo already out, adding another three players onto the unavailable list, with Wolfsburg and Arsenal games coming in the next five days, would be far from ideal.

If Matteo Darmian is set to play at left-back in Shaw’s absence, Louis van Gaal would then have a problem with who to play at right-back as Valencia filled in that role against Sunderland at the weekend.

Hopefully there is a perfectly reasonable explanation behind the absence of Herrera, Carrick and Valencia because the last thing United need with the season going so well is for injuries to pile up and really stretch the squad depth.

Title winning campaigns are usually built on a stable starting XI with minimal injuries, so fingers crossed United’s traditional curse won’t come back to haunt him.
