Former Chelsea and Arsenal striker Nicolas Anelka has backed Anthony Martial to succeed at Manchester United.
Martial signed for Man United on transfer deadline day and has been a revelation since his arrival. With four goals in his first four games and then a brilliant performance against Sunderland, the youngster has taken the Premier League by storm.
Anelka has played for six different clubs in England during his career and is no stranger to the Premier League.
It is a huge vote of confidence for Martial to have his experienced countryman speaking highly of him.
Anelka said: “Anthony is a very good player and I’m sure he’ll do well for United. He is one of the most talented young players of his generation. He’ll get better and better!”
It is a scary thought for the rest of the league if Martial does in fact improve drastically. His start to life at United has been nothing short of extraordinary, not only scoring goals but also helping the team’s overall performance.
The 19-year-old’s hold up play has been a huge feature in his performances and he is starting to show signs of being the No.9 striker that United have been crying out for. After the departures of Robin van Persie and Radamel Falcao this summer, Martial has taken up the mantle and has been living up to his record transfer fee.
