Monaco manager Leonardo Jardim has described Anthony Martial as a “very good young player” as the striker continues his excellent start at Manchester United.
Martial put in another lively performance against Wolfsburg on Wednesday night, helping Man United seal a 2-1 win.
The Frenchman has scored four goals since his £36m move from Monaco on deadline day and he has showed no signs of slowing down.
“Anthony is a very good young player,” Jardim said.
“Last year he played badly in the beginning of the season and after worked a lot physically and mentally.
“When you work in a club like Monaco with good methods and a good team, it is easy to improve – and then go to a big European club.”
It was presumed that Martial would be eased into the starting XI following his acquisition but the youngster has had no qualms with being thrown in the deep end by Louis van Gaal. Martial’s speed, strength and confidence on the ball belies his years and he already looks a fantastic player despite the fact he is just 19 years old.
