Former Arsenal goalkeeper David Seaman has stressed that his former club must win their game against Manchester United on Sunday.
Arsenal currently trail Man United by three points in the Premier League. The Gunners were beaten 3-2 to Olympiakos in the Champions League in midweek and will be looking for a response.
Arsenal have struggled to beat United in the past few seasons, with an FA cup win at Old Trafford their most recent triumph.
However, United won 2-1 at the Emirates last year, a result the North London club can ill afford this time around.
Seaman said: “It’s a massive game against Man United. This is a must win game for Arsenal. It’s a big, big game and Arsenal need to win it more than Man United.”
Arsenal have been inconsistent so far this campaign but a 5-2 away win at Leicester City last week was a good result for a side that have struggled to really get going. If they were to lose to United, it would open up a six point gap between the two teams and, even at such an early stage, it could prove pivotal in the title race.
United go into the game full of confidence having won four games in a row in all competitions. Louis van Gaal’s side are starting to find their groove and they know that a win keeps them at the top of the table, regardless of other results.
It is still early days but the clash between the two clubs could have huge ramifications. United have a tough month ahead of them and what better way to start it than with a win away at a huge title rival.
