Former Manchester United midfielder David Beckham is hopeful that Cristiano Ronaldo returns to Old Trafford one day.

Both players wore the famous No.7 shirt for Man United before they both made the move to Real Madrid.

Ronaldo has been hinting at a move away from Madrid at the end of the current season and Beckham speaks for the majority of fans when he says he would love him to return.

“I’d like to see him come back, as a Man United fan. That would be great because he was so great at Man United,” Beckham said.

“But he is at Real Madrid now, he is very comfortable in his life there, the fans obviously love him there, and he looks a real Real Madrid player now.”

Ronaldo scored his 500th career goal when Madrid beat Malmo in the Champions League but the winger reportedly ‘dreams’ of a move back to United. The Portuguese helped United to win the European Cup in 2008 and supporters would be delighted to have him back.

Beckham left United in 2003 having come through the club’s famous academy. He has always been a United fan and his wish to see Ronaldo back at Old Trafford is shared by almost everyone associated with the club.
