Adnan Januzaj came on as a second half substitute as Borussia Dortmund suffered a 5-1 defeat against Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga this weekend.
The Manchester United midfielder is spending the duration of the season on loan at the German club, who have started the season tremendously well. After a disappointing campaign last year, Dortmund have bounced back well under Thomas Tuchel but they did not have enough to stop Bayern at the Allianz Arena.
Januzaj entered the fray after 53 minutes with his side already trailing 3-1 and was helpless as Robert Lewandowski and Mario Gotze added to the scoring to complete the rout.
The Belgian is getting ample opportunity to show off his ability at Dortmund, as Tuchel has placed his faith in him. Januzaj started in the Europa League in midweek and has been impressive so far.
With Man United struggling to break down Arsenal at the same time Dortmund were under siege from Bayern, it was another indication that the 20-year-old could have a big part to play when he eventually returns to Old Trafford. United lost 3-0 at the Emirates stadium, losing their hold on top spot in the Premier League in the process.
Januzaj will be focused, for now, on the job at hand for Dortmund as he failed to get a call-up to the Belgian national team for their European Championship qualifiers next week. The youngster can take the opportunity to recuperate and will want to cement his place in the Dortmund side for when the teams return from their respective international duties.
