If there is one positive thing for Luke Shaw out of this terrible situation with his horror injury, it’s the fact he’s been able to fully appreciate the support of Manchester United fans and football fans worldwide.
There has been an outpour of support for Shaw ever since the injury in Eindhoven from not only Man United fans but fans and players from all corners of the footballing world.
Empathy isn’t something you typically associate with football but what Shaw’s injury has shown is that it does exist and the overwhelming support should hopefully be something which puts a smile on his face.

There’s a real collective will behind Shaw and people wanting him, willing him, to fully recover from his injury and the fact he’s back at United’s training ground already can only be a good thing, even if it is just to say hello.
Louis van Gaal said he felt this would be the season of Shaw at United and it really looked like that would be the case prior to his injury, so fans are crossing their fingers and hoping he’ll be strong enough to overcome this injury to come back and carry on where he left off.
