Juan Mata and David de arrive for Spain training camp for Euro 2016 qualifiers

David de Gea and Juan Mata have now both arrived in Spain to link up with the national team ahead of their Euro 2016 qualifiers this week.

Spain have a home game against Luxembourg on Friday night and follow that up with an away trip to Ukraine on Tuesday, meaning they should be back in Manchester on Wednesday ahead of next weekend’s game against Everton.

For both players, every international break ahead of Euro 2016 is an opportunity to force their way into Vicente del Bosque’s starting XI as neither have a guaranteed spot in the team.

Although De Gea is by far and away the best goalkeeper in terms of ability right now and form, Del Bosque has remained loyal to Iker Casillas and it remains to be seen whether that will continue now he has joined FC Porto.

With Mata, he faces a tougher challenge as Spain have got so many talented midfielders who can play in his role but all he can do is try and emulate his club form with his country and if he can, he’ll put himself in the best possible position.
