Carlo Ancelotti: Cristiano Ronaldo will retire at Real Madrid

Carlo Ancelotti believes Cristiano Ronaldo will retire at Real Madrid despite reported interest from Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain.

Ancelotti managed the Portuguese forward during his time in charge of the Spanish club between 2013 and 2015.

Ronaldo is said to be the subject of interest from Man United and PSG and figures upwards of £70m have been banded about.

However, Ancelotti insisted Ronaldo will stay at Madrid as “everybody” there loves him.

“He etched his name into the record books at Real Madrid the other day when he equaled Raul’s goalscoring record,” Ancelotti said.

“I cannot imagine him leaving Real Madrid. I think he will stay at Madrid until the end of his career. Everybody at the club loves him.”

Logistically, a transfer involving Ronaldo would be very difficult to pull off. Add to that the fact that he is now 30 years old and it is hard to justify what would be a massive outlay for him. That being said, it’s fair to say that supporters would be in dreamland if United managed to secure his return.
