Eyebrows were raised when Martial was brought to Old Trafford on deadline day in a deal that could be worth over £50m but he has hit the ground running at Man United.
The Frenchman scored a memorable debut goal against Liverpool and he has looked a bright spark in all of his appearances so far.
Cabaye backed Martial to continue his good start and make his “mark” on the Premier League.
“They speak about him [Martial in England]. I am not surprised about how quickly he fits in and what he’s able to do on the pitch. He’s very talented,” Cabaye said.
“He’s very young but by the way he plays and behaves on and outside the pitch, he seems very calm and adult. He could manage all the fuss about his transfer and the fees.
“At the end of the day, the poor guy did not ask for nothing in term of the amount spent but it comes back on him.
“He’s doing very well. I wish he’ll keep doing that way. He has great abilities. I hope he’ll leave his mark on the Premier League.”
Martial has made a fantastic start to his United career but there will inevitably come a time when his form dips. In that case, it is important that Louis van Gaal takes the youngster out of the limelight in order to take the pressure off him.
