Victor Valdes denied dressing room locker at Manchester United

Victor Valdes no longer has a locker in the dressing room at Manchester United’s Carrington training ground, according to the Guardian.

Valdes has been frozen out at Man United by Louis van Gaal after the manager accused him of refusing to play for the club’s U21 side last season.

The Spaniard disagreed with van Gaal’s version of events and has since found playing time hard to come by. Valdes was excluded from the official squad photograph and has been ordered to train at separate times to the first-team.

The 33-year-old looked for a move away from United this summer but his high wage demands meant he was unable to find a new club, with a transfer to Besiktas falling through at the final hurdle.

The news that Valdes has been banished from first-team training sessions and even the dressing room shows how far the situation has gone and it is something that van Gaal will want to get under wraps as soon as possible. It is clear the goalkeeper is never going to play for United under van Gaal again and the club will want to cut their losses.

Valdes has only made two appearances for United since his move on a free transfer in January of this year and following the signing of Sergio Romero this summer, it seems that van Gaal has decided on the former Barcelona man’s fate.

It is a shame that it never worked out between Valdes and his manager, however United will want this saga to end as quickly as it started. The club are starting to look as if they are mistreating Valdes while he tries to find a new club and the situation could turn very messy very quickly.
