Manchester United midfielder Memphis Depay is ignoring the criticism he has received so far this season.
Memphis has struggled in the Premier League since signing from PSV Eindhoven this summer, scoring just the one goal in Man United’s 3-0 win over Sunderland.
The Dutchman has found it difficult to find his groove in England so far but he is focused on improving.
Memphis is choosing to ignore the negative press he is receiving and is determined to turn things around for himself.
Memphis said: “I just let the criticism slide off me. I’m not really paying attention to it. Only constructive criticism can do something for you. I just let the rest go. Everyone will have an opinion, but that is part of life.”
The winger is currently away on international duty with the Dutch national side, who have their work cut out for them if they wish to reach next summer’s European Championships. Memphis will be key to their chances of getting into the playoffs and United fans will be hoping he can find some form with his national side.
Memphis is still to make heads turn in England but, at just 21, still has time on his side. The Premier League is a tough league to adapt to and Memphis will be hoping that he can find some form with his country to help him when he returns to Manchester after the break.
