International reds: Marouane Fellaini and Matteo Darmian qualify for Euro 2016

by Sam Peoples

Matteo Darmian enjoyed a fantastic night with Italy as he scored his first international goal in their win over Azerbaijan which secured their qualification to Euro 2016.

The defender struck a shot from outside the box and flat footed Azerbaijan’s goalkeeper to net his first goal which will give him a real confidence boost, as any goal will for a player in a win.

As well as Darmian, Marouane Fellaini secured qualification with Belgium after their 4-1 win over Andorra. He was an unused substitute on the night but has played a crucial role in their qualifying campaign having chipped in with plenty of more important goals.

Adnan Januzaj was left out of Belgium’s squad for their qualifiers this week but we fully expect him to be part of their squad for Euro 2016.

Both Memphis Depay and Daley Blind played in Netherlands crucial win over Kazakhstan which keeps their hopes of qualifying for Euro 2016 alive, albeit by a thread.
