One of the most exciting things about Anthony Martial‘s start to life at Manchester United hasn’t been his goals, four in six games, but the overall quality of his all-round game.
In particular, Martial has got brilliant ball control and technique in position. Combined with the fact he has electric pace, it makes for a dangerous concoction as Armenia’s defence found out in France’s 4-0 friendly win over them this week.
The clip which caught our attention the most was one where Martial received the ball in his own half, span his marker, went on a great run and then danced past another defender with ease. Yes, it was against Armenia but it’s indicative of how confident Martial is with the ball at his feet.
Martial is yet to make his full debut for France but with Karim Benzema ruled out of their next game with an injury, the 19-year-old could be set to get a fantastic opportunity if Didier Deschamps believes he is ready for it.
