Anthony Martial had a night to remember during his full debut for France against Denmark.
The 19-year-old notched an assist within five minutes and was a real handful for the Denmark defence who simply couldn’t control him. Every time he had the ball, he looked like a real threat. Manchester United supporters were certainly impressed by how well he played.
Morgan Schneiderlin also played the game but he completed the full 90 minutes and that puts him in good stead coming back to Man United ahead of next weekend’s match against Everton.
There was also more joy for Paddy McNair. The youngster started his second consecutive game for Northern Ireland and their 1-0 win over Greece means they finish their Euro 2016 qualifying campaign as winners of their group – what a fantastic achievement. Well done, Paddy.
Bastian Schweinsteiger played no part in Germany’s game against Georgia despite returning to training on Thursday. He’ll now return to Manchester short of match fitness and has a week to prepare himself for Everton, so whether he’ll be fit for that game remains to be seen.
