Manchester United monitor Everton’s Brendan Galloway and could make move in January – report

Manchester United are monitoring Everton left-back Brendan Galloway and could make a move for him in January, according to the Mirror.

19-year-old Galloway has impressed at Goodison Park in the absence of the injured Leighton Baines.

Louis van Gaal is without Luke Shaw for the majority of the campaign and has identified Galloway as a potential replacement.

Galloway signed a five-year contract when he joined Everton from MK Dons in 2014 but Toffees boss Roberto Martinez revealed last month that the player will be offered improved terms.

United have struggled to cope with Shaw’s injury, with Daley Blind and Marcos Rojo both playing at left-back in recent weeks.

Young, English and with bags of potential, Galloway is much like Shaw. It would not be beyond the realms of possibility to see Galloway at United someday but perhaps the club should wait a little while to see if he can keep his place in the Everton XI when Baines returns.
