Patrice Evra impressed by Manchester United’s Anthony Martial following France win

Patrice Evra has admitted he was impressed by Manchester United’s Anthony Martial following the youngster’s performance in the 2-1 friendly win over Denmark last weekend.

Martial put in another accomplished display and registered an assist with a clever through ball to Olivier Giroud.

Evra, who played for Man United between 2006 and 2014, revealed that he had a few words of advice for Martial following the clash in Copenhagen.

“It’s the first time I’ve seen him in a match,” Evra said.

“He was impressive. I told him at the end of the game: ‘I hope that you hydrate well and stretch well. Keep accelerating like that.’ Every time he touched the ball, he drove and he created something.”

Evra has spoken numerous times of his affection for United and he will be as excited as supporters are over Martial.

The 19-year-old was expected to be bedded in at Old Trafford after his £36m move from Monaco on deadline day but he has really hit the ground running at United. Martial will be hoping to keep his run going when United travel to Goodison Park to face Everton this weekend.
