Former Porto striker Benni McCarthy has revealed that he would like to coach at Manchester United someday.
McCarthy has completed his UEFA B diploma and is now working on his A license ahead of a move into coaching.
The South African played for the likes of Blackburn Rovers and West Ham United in his playing days.
However, he has always supported Man United and is aiming to become part of the backroom staff there.
“I dream of arriving in the Premier League, and if possible at Manchester United, my favourite club since I was little,” McCarthy said.
Although his ambition is admirable, McCarthy will need to put some work in if he is to coach at United.
The club employ a number of world-class football professionals who work on every aspect of the player’s physical and mental wellbeing. But who knows, perhaps Louis van Gaal will see McCarthy’s comments and give him a call.
