Juan Mata has thanked all Manchester United for voting him as September’s Player of the Month.
The Spaniard won the award with 44% of the vote just ahead of new-boy Anthony Martial who picked up 42% of fans’ votes after a blistering start to his Man United career.
Mata’s close relationship with the fans is certainly one of the most endearing aspects of his career so far at Old Trafford. There aren’t many players over the years who have been as genuine as Mata and that has really helped him build a strong relationship with the fanbase in a relatively short space of time.
Thanks to everyone! ???????? https://t.co/Ahn2GqYmOM

Everybody was surprised that Jose Mourinho let Chelsea’s double Player of the Year leave Stamford Bridge, let alone to a Premier League rival, and that’s certainly coming back to haunt him right now.
Mata has become one of United’s main focal points going forward. On the right wing, a position nobody expected him to thrive in, Mata has been so dangerous. With three goals and three assists in September, he showed he had the final end product as well and that’s the most important thing because United have lacked that in attack so badly.
Against an Everton side who are likely to press quickly on Saturday with real intensity, a diminutive and tricky player like Mata could be exactly what United need to open up the defence and over the course of the season, he’s going to be one of our most important players if we are to even remotely mount a title push.
