Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger has hailed his teammates after they comfortably beat Everton 3-0 on Saturday.
The Germany captain didn’t represent his country over the international break due to injury but was thrust straight into Louis van Gaal‘s starting line up at Goodison Park.
He played alongside Morgan Schneiderlin and the pair dominated the midfield, especially in the first half, as Man United took control of the game.
Schweinsteiger praised his teammates following the game:

Schneiderlin really put himself about, helping break down play and getting United up the pitch. It meant Schweinsteiger’s role was not as crucial but the veteran still performed his duties admirably.
The 31-year-old was solid in defence and was always quick to make sure United got themselves on the ball for extended periods of time. Van Gaal’s side kept the ball extremely well and Schweinsteiger was key in that.
The midfielder will want to use the victory to kickstart United’s season. With CSKA Moscow next up in the Champions League, Schweinsteiger knows that the big games are coming thick and fast and he, as a senior player, will need to be on top of his game to help his side through the difficult period.
