Rio Ferdinand has revealed his sons were so impressed by Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez in Manchester United’s 3-0 defeat at the Emirates that they are now Arsenal supporters.
Ferdinand says he took his two children to the United game in their United tops but when he left with them after seeing United handed a drubbing by second-placed Arsenal they were asking for Alexis Sanchez shirts.
Don’t worry Rio, next week they’ll be asking for Sanchez to be sold after a wayward performance.
“My boys came to the game in Manchester United tops, but they left asking for Alexis Sanchez shirts,” Ferdinand said, speaking to BreatheSport of his experience of United’s humbling defeat in London in early October.
Don’t worry though, with his Rio as their dad there is only going to be one team they’ll support – United.
@Djofils slap yourself mate!!!

Ferdinand is currently a pundit at BT Sport, working on many United games in both the Premier League and UEFA Champions League. Following the Arsenal defeat, he published a brilliant post on Facebook that reflected the views of many United fans across the country who saw the side crumble at the hands of Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal.
While he is a pundit for now, the defender, who made 455 appearances for United, hinted that he may be looking to experience management soon. His sons may be Arsenal fans, but he remains a United fan and his experience of the club wouldn’t go amiss in the coaching set-up.
